Thun is a charming small town that lies on the shore of Lake Thun, about 30 km south of Switzerland’s capital Berne. It is gateway to the incredible beautiful Bernese Oberland, whereas the snowy peaks of Mounts Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau are the absolute highlight of its fairytale panorama.

Minotel Elite is situated in the centre, at the edge of the old town and at the foot of the castle, called Schloss Thun. The Stadthalle with its ice rinks and Parking City Nord are just next doors.

Arrival by car :
Arrival via highway N6 between Berne and Interlaken, exit Thun-Nord. Follow the direction of Thun; Gunten for about 1.5 km on main road 6 / Obere Bernstrasse. The hotel is located just before the 3rd roundabout, on your right- hand side.

It is possible to leave your car for a short while in front of the hotel. Apart from that, parking spaces need to be rented in the hotel’s garage (please do reserve in advance). They allow for a direct access to your room. Next door public parking City Nord on Grabenstrasse provides further parking possibilities.

Arrival by train and public transport :
Thun railway station is well connected, since it lies on the Berne- Loetschberg-Simplon line. At the station, take bus no. 1 in the direction of Steffisburg until Berntor (3rd stop). You can also reach the hotel on foot within a quarter of an hour. Walk down Bahnhofstrasse until Maulbeerplatz. Cross the two arms of the Aare river and turn left into the pedestrian zone (Obere Hauptgasse, followed by Untere Hauptgasse). Then continue straight for about 150 m on Marktgasse. The hotel is now right opposite you.

Arrival by airplane :
Booming Berne-Belp Airport offers daily connections with Munich, London-City, Rome and Lugano. It is about 22 km away and you can easily reach Thun via highway N6. A taxi costs about CHF 50. Otherwise, a shuttle bus takes you in about 20 minutes to Berne railway station where you can change to an intercity train to Thun (several departures per hour / a 20-minute trip).

From Zurich Airport, take highway N1 to Bern and then highway N6 in the direction of Thun; Interlaken.
Furthermore, direct trains link Zürich-Flughafen railway station to Thun. The journey takes about 1 3/4 hour.

The hotel is approximately 5 minutes from Thun-Expo, 28 km from Bern- Expo and 30 minutes from Interlaken away.
