Selected Landmarks
in Prague
Petrin Tower is an observation tower built for the 1891 international anniversary exhibition of the Czech countries. Petrin Tower and Eiffel Tower resemble each other like brothers. Since it was built on the Petrin Hill, people from Prague like to point out that the hill and the tower together equal the hight of the Eiffel Tower ! There is no elevator that leads on top of the 60 m high Petrin Tower and so you need to climb the 299 steps of the spiral staircase if you want to enjoy the splendid view of the Old Town and the castle from the observation platform.

Charles Bridge was built in the 14th century. It was the only bridge that spanned the Vltava River until 1741, whereas it links the Old Town to the Mala Strana district. No other monument represents Prague as well as does Charles Bridge with its gallery of 30 statues and groups of figures. No wonder that it is packed with tourists during the high season, as it is simply unimaginable not to stroll at least once over Charles Bridge while being in Prague ! Plenty of handicraft stalls and street artists mingle with a happy crowd on Charles Bridge.
