Hotel Croce di Malta lies in the old town of Florence, Italy, near Santa Maria Novella train station. It is the ideal place to mellow out after a day spent working hard, participating in an important conference or visiting the Florentine sights.

The hotel is located in what until the mid 1800’s was the old Suore della Carità (Sisters of Charity) convent. It gave a home to Florence’s “poor, virtuous maidens”.

The convent was built on a pre-existing building from Roman times. Marble sculptures and reliefs date back from this period as well as a splendid column decorated with an Ionic capital, all of which can still be admired today in various areas of the hotel. Its structure is a harmonious fusion of Tuscan renaissance forms and contemporary architectural design.

Our three unique, comfortable conference rooms were decorated by skilful Tuscan craftsmen. The rooms were designed to host various events ranging from small art exhibitions to informal meetings and conferences, whereas we keep an eye on satisfying all the specific needs of each particular event.

One Of Our Bedrooms
All rooms are decorated according to the canons of classic elegance, where the furniture is the result of meticulous handcrafted workmanship and the hand-painted panels are reminiscent of Tuscan works of art from the 15th and 16th centuries. The rooms' charm goes hand in hand with the comfort of the most modern, functional amenities such as satellite TV, minibar, minisafe and fast connection to the Internet. Extremely functional, the bathrooms are tastefully and harmoniously decorated. You can enjoy views of the green inner garden or of the romantic panorama from the Hotel Croce di Malta rooms, all with walls decorated with stucco in the finest tradition of Florentine craftsmanship and their own individual character and charm in terms of colour and ambience.

Restaurant
The restaurant, where the wood panelling provides a warm atmosphere, traditional Tuscan cuisine linked to the flavours of the area meets international cuisine, thus also satisfying the most refined palates.

Here country tradition meets Tyrrhenian Sea fishermen's tradition, so among specialities such as the typical Florentine ribollita, aubergine and boletus mushroom "Pappa", and Chianina beef with rocket, there are fresh seafood dishes such as Caciucco alla Livornese.

Right next to the restaurant there is the hotel's charming cocktail lounge where a simple cocktail or a rich buffet can make a break from a conference or from decisions at an important meeting more pleasant.

Arrival by car :
Get off the motorway either at the Firenze Nord or the Firenze Certosa exit and follow the direction of the railway station (Stazione).

From the railway station :
Take “Via Santa Caterina da Siena” road and turn left at the traffic lights. The hotel is located on the right-hand side of the street, after approximately 100 m. It has a reserved space which allows you to stop while unloading your luggage.

From Firenze Amerigo Vespucci (Peretola) Airport :
The taxi ride will cost you about euro 25.00.

From Pisa Galileo Galilei Airport :
The shuttle bus takes you within 45 minutes directly to the Santa Maria Novella railway station.
