Friedrichshafen profits from its beautiful situation on the North
shore of Lake Constance in the province of Baden-Württemberg close
to
Austria and Switzerland. The HOTELzeppelin® is located only a
few steps from the train station and the lake.
By car :
Coming from the West, North-West (Freiburg, Strasbourg, Stuttgart)
:
Take the motorway A81 and continue on the A98. From
Basel go by
Schaffhausen and take the exit no 13 Überlingen /
Friedrichshafen.
Continue direction Friedrichshafen on the main road
B31.
Once in Friedrichshafen continue on the Zeppelinstrasse along the
lake. After the bridge, which crosses the railway lines, turn left
into the Werastrasse. Turn then into the second street from
the
right, the Eugenstrasse. The hotel HOTELzeppelin® is located
after
about 350 m on your left.
Coming from the North and the North-East (Ulm, Munich):
Take the motorway A96 and leave by the exit no 3
Sigmarszell /
Friedrichshafen. Continue on the main road B31 direction
Friedrichshafen and then on the same main road (to by-pass
downtown).
Turn left before the industrial zone and continue on the main road
(now Colsmanstrasse). Turn then into the third street from
the
left,
the Eugenstrasse. The HOTELzeppelin® is on the
opposite side.
Coming from Austria and Switzerland (on the motorway N13):
Pass by Bregenz on the motorway A96 and take the
exit no3. You can
also take the main road via Lindau and continue on the B31.
Follow then above instruction.
Coming from the South-West (Switzerland) and from the
international
airport Zürich-Kloten :
Take the motorway N1. Past Winterthur continue on the
N7 until
Constance. Details regarding the crossing by ferry with the
car,
direction Meersburg, are at your disposal at the harbour. The
crossing (4.2 km) takes about a quarter of an hour and costs between
5.40 euro and 10.80 euro depending on the length of your car (the
driver is included in the price and every additional adult passenger
costs about 2.00 euro). The ferry leaves at least four times per
hour
until 9pm. After 9pm twice per hour and after midnight until 5am
(week ends and public holidays 6:30am) once per hour. Continue in
Meeresburg on the B31 direction Friedrichshafen. Once in
Friedrichshafen continue on the Zeppelinstrasse along the
lake. After
the bridge, which crosses the railway lines, turn left into the
Werastrasse. Turn then into the second street from the right,
the
Eugenstrasse. The hotel HOTELzeppelin® is located after
about
350 m
on your left.
For those who wish to relax on the lake, the following crossing is
recommended: Go to Romanshorn (motorway N1, exit Rorschach or
motorway N7, exit Müllheim, main road 14 to Wienfelden, Mriswil).
From Romanshorn you can take a direct ferry to Friedrichshafen. The
journey takes about 40 minutes. The ferry leaves during the week
once
an hour between 5:30am and 9:30pm. On week ends, public holidays and
during summer time it is recommended to get information concerning
the time table. The journey costs between 15 and 22 euro depending
on
the length of the car and 6.80 euro for every additional adult
passenger (the driver is included in the price). Once in
Friedrichshafen turn into the Friedrichsstrasse and then, after 400
m, right into the Riedleparkstrasse. Pass the under bridge
(under the
railway line) and turn left at the first roundabout into the
Eugenstrasse. The hotel HOTELzeppelin® is located after
about
350 m
on your left.
By train and boat :
Friedrichshafen disposes of several train stations. Friedrichshafen-
Stadt or Stadtbahnhof are located quite close to the hotel and
served
by the Deutschen Bundesbahn (DB). Daily connections (regional
express) with Basel, Freiburg, Offenburg Karlsruhe, Stuttgart, Ulm
and Augsburg.
Coming from Austria via Bregenz and Lindau and from Switzerland
:
Via St. Margrethen and Lindau or via Schaffhausen and Singen. Coming
from Switzerland you have the possibility to take a speedboat from
Konstanz (from 5am until 8pm one departure per hour, costs about
8.50
euro for one adult. ATTENTION: only for passengers and cyclists – no
vehicles). The speedboat takes you within 53 minutes to
Friedrichshafen-Hafen. To join the hotel from the harbour you can
either take a taxi (1.5 km) or the train to Friedrichshafen-
Stadtbahnhof (2 min.). You can also take the bus no 4 until
Eugenstrasse (4th stop). The hotel is located about a 100 meters
from
the bus stop.
Once at the train station Friedrichshafen-Stadt cross the subway
direction North and turn then left into the Eugenstrasse. The hotel
is located after about 250 m on your right.
RECOMMANDATION : (especially for travellers coming from
Switzerland)
Please ask prior to your departure for the best connections and time
tables, which can vary according to the day and season.
RECOMMANDATION : The Lake-Constance-Region disposes of an
impressionable network of public transportation (bus, train, boat).
Ask a priori at the HOTELzeppelin® about day tickets (multi
tickets).
By plane :
The airport Bodensee-Airport Friedrichshafen is a small
booming
airport (charter- and low cost flights as for instance airlines such
as Ryanair). Daily flights from Friedrichshafen to Frankfurt, Berlin
(Tempelhof), Hamburg as well as to London (Stanstead) and Vienna. A
small train leaves from the airport and takes you in a few minutes
to
the train station Friedrichshafen-Stadt (about 1.20 euro). You can
also use the shuttle bus service offered by the hotel (about 10
euro,
please contact the HOTELzeppelin® ). A taxi to town costs
about 14 euro.
From the international airport CH-Zürich-Kloten it is about
95
km to
the ferry (Konstanz – Meersburg- please find the journey
descriptions in the above text “arriving by car”). If you drive via
Schaffhausen it is about 130 km until Friedrichshafen (Schaffhausen,
Singen). With the public transportations you have to count about 2h
to 2h30 until Friedrichshafen (via Singen, via Konstanz, via
Romanshorn (with the boat) or via St. Margrethen.
